About

I am a visual artist based in Finland, working with plants, material and botanical imprints. Since 2018, I have been developing my artistic practice through botanical relief.

My works begin with direct contact with living plant material. Flowers, leaves, branches and other botanical forms are pressed into clay and removed before casting, leaving their physical imprints behind. I use these imprints to create new compositions that explore the relationship between nature, time, memory and place.

From botanical imprint to composition
I use the physical imprints of real plants to build compositions in which botanical forms become rhythm, structure and space. Repetition, scale, empty space and the interaction between different plant forms are central to my work. Each plant responds differently to the process. A delicate flower leaves a different imprint than a fern, a branch or a seed head. These material differences influence the composition and make every relief a unique encounter between the plant, the material and my artistic decisions. My practice has evolved from smaller botanical studies towards larger, layered and increasingly complex relief compositions. I am increasingly interested in how individual plant imprints can form entire visual environments rather than simply represent individual plants.

Professional practice
My artistic practice has developed continuously since 2018 through independent studio work, juried exhibitions and long-term public documentation.

2026 — Suomen Taiteilijat ry Annual Exhibition Awakening of the Ferns / Saniaisten herääminen . Juried by visual artist Niko Saarinen.

2026 — Taiteen viettely, Helsinki Kesän hiljaisuus.  Juried by visual artist Vicky Maaranen.

Member of Suomen Taiteilijat ry since 2024. Accepted as an artist member following an evaluation of my work by the association’s board.

Since 2018, I have documented the development of my botanical relief practice through KLEVER Art on YouTube.

The archive includes more than 400 published videos and provides a long-term public record of the development of my working methods and artistic practice.

My work and artistic process have reached an international audience through long-term online documentation.

KLEVER Art has grown to more than 80,000 subscribers and 7 million views, with individual videos reaching audiences of more than one million viewers. My works have also entered private collections outside Finland, including in the United States.
